Many of you officers are asking what is needed when you want competency.
Firstly competency is only applied at SAPS you will need the following
1. 2x ID colour photo's
2. 2x Copy ID
3. Copy Statement of Results
4. Copy Firearm Training certificate
5. 3 x references (spouse/partner, friend & neighbour)
6. Fingerprints (taken by SAPS)
7. Proof of residence address
8. You pay R77 for competency application fee
How long does competency take ? You should wait minimum 6+ months then you can go and check at the police station you applied your competency it takes long due to covid so be patient and always do follow ups
